Very special wishes to Katherine Price who will celebrate her 102nd birthday tomorrow.

The Satterwhite family would like to extend thanks to the Central family for the response to the death of our mother, sister, and aunt, Wilma Mae Bowden Satterwhite. The cooperation between her Church-Blessed Hope and Central fails description in its grace. Her celebration of life was indeed wonderful. We will always remember you. She will always be our mom our sister, our aunt Willie an our friend.

EVENTS AND REMINDERS

The Mothers Day Catered Meal has been canceled due to insufficient pre-registrations.

Ministry Opportunity- Detroit Conference Outdoor and Retreat Ministries has several openings available for persons who are over 18 and wish to serve God at one of their camps. For further information please call 1-800-334-0544 Ext: 354

The Metropolitan Detroit Central Seniors invite everyone to join them at a morning at the Opera at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 11th and a lunch on the second floor of church following the performance. We will see The Pirates of Penzance, always a favorite. The cost is $21.00 and you do not need to be a member of the Seniors to attend. Visions of Peace, Children’s art from 30 area schools and educational institutions is the featured exhibit at swords into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery from Tuesday, April 27th through July 17th, 2004. The art reflects the young artists’ interpretation of the United Nations Conference on the Rights of Children and it always a delightful and moving experience to see how hope and imagination are reflected in the art. The Center is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00 to 3:00, and by special appointment by calling the Center in advance.

Book Study- Leadership and the New Science(discovering order in a chaotic world) will meet May 4th, 6:30pm at Lois Rutt’s home.

We will be packing peanuts today after church and tomorrow at 1:00p.m. All are welcome.

T-Shirts and Caps- Susan Francis has T-shirts and caps with the church name printed on them. You do not have to sell peanuts to own them. T-shirts are $6.00 and Caps are $6.50.

Remember the Sphinx Competition ? This fall Sphinx is starting a Saturday preparatory program for young instrumentalists in the Detroit Metro area. CYM members who will be between 12 and 18 should see Caen for an application or go to www.sphinxmusic.org.
